Why We Started
Greenlight Dispatching was founded in 2019 by Raymond Holloway, a former owner-operator who spent over a decade running dry van freight across the country. Ray was a good driver — safety record, on-time delivery, maintained equipment. But like most owner-operators, he was spending hours every week chasing loads, arguing rates with brokers, and drowning in paperwork that took time away from driving.
What bothered Ray most wasn't the work — it was watching other drivers leave the industry not because they couldn't drive, but because they couldn't manage the business. Rates were low because they didn't know how to negotiate. Cash flow was tight because invoicing was slow. Time was wasted on load boards when it should have been on the road. Ray built Greenlight to fix exactly that: give owner-operators professional dispatch support at a price that actually makes sense, with policies that respect their independence.

Darnell came up through the freight brokerage side, spending 8 years at regional and national brokerages learning exactly how load pricing works and where rates have room to move. He leads our dispatch team, sets rate benchmarks, and trains every new dispatcher on negotiation strategy. If there's margin on a load, Darnell finds it.
